Matbett Privacy Policy — How Your Data Is Collected and Kept Secure

Matbett collects two types of data — information you provide directly, and information collected automatically as you use the platform.

What you provide directly: your name, mobile number, date of birth, and email address at registration. Your National ID number and a selfie or photo during KYC verification. Your mobile banking number or bank account details when making a withdrawal.

What is collected automatically: your device type, operating system, browser version, IP address, and a log of your activity on the platform. This information is primarily used to maintain security and improve platform performance.

Every piece of data we collect has a specific purpose — nothing is collected vaguely or without good reason. The main reasons are:

On the technical side: all data transfers use TLS 1.3 protocol, stored sensitive data is protected with AES-256 encryption, and two-factor authentication is mandatory for server access. Regular third-party cybersecurity audits are conducted to identify and address vulnerabilities before they become a problem.

On the operational side: Matbett staff can only access specific data required for their role — no employee has unrestricted access to all user information. Logs of all data processing are retained and reviewed on a regular basis.

That said, it's worth acknowledging — no digital system is 100% impenetrable. In the event of a cyberattack, affected users will be notified as quickly as possible and immediate steps will be taken to minimize any harm.

Matbett does not retain data longer than necessary. All information is kept while an account is active, as it is needed to provide our services. Once an account is closed, different types of data have different retention periods.

Transaction records are retained for up to 5 years in accordance with financial regulations — this is a legal requirement. KYC documents are kept for 2 years after an account is closed. Usage logs are retained for a maximum of 1 year. Contact details such as your name and email may be deleted upon request when closing your account, though some data may need to be retained for the duration of any applicable legal period.

Once the defined retention period ends, data is securely deleted — not merely archived. The deletion process follows international standards to ensure the data cannot be recovered.

Matbett strictly enforces an 18+ age requirement. Age is verified at registration, and if there is any suspicion that a user may be a minor, their account will be suspended pending verification. We do not knowingly collect or retain data from minors.

If a minor is found to have registered using false information, their account will be closed immediately and all collected data will be deleted. If a parent or guardian suspects their child is using Matbett, contacting our support team will result in swift action.

Matbett may update this Privacy Policy when necessary. Changes may occur due to technological developments, new legal requirements, or the addition of new platform features.

For significant changes, you'll be notified by SMS or email to your registered mobile number at least 7 days in advance. For minor updates, only the date on this page will be changed. Continued use of the platform after any changes will be considered acceptance of the updated policy.
